The tourist town of Calpe is located in the north of Alicante, in the Marina Alta, between Benissa and Altea, with an area of 22.9 km² and an average altitude of 20 m above sea level.
Calpe stands out for its three main areas: the town centre, the beaches and the urbanisations, each with unique architectural styles and layouts. Its most emblematic symbol is the Peñón de Ifach, an imposing 332 m rock that juts out into the sea and divides the coastline into the bays of the beaches ‘La Fossa’ to the north and ‘Arenal-Bol’ to the south. This Natural Park, declared in 1987, is famous for its beauty and scientific value.
The 13 km long coastline has several beaches and coves, attracting both residential and holiday tourism, mostly visitors from Central Europe and Spain. Since the 1960s, the accommodation offer has been consolidated around second homes and seasonal accommodation.
The entertainment offer includes the theme park ‘Terra Mitica’ only half an hour away and five golf courses nearby. Calpe also has a nautical club equipped for water sports.
